What stays here
Confidentiality
You are going to tell us what a machine cost you, what somebody else did to it, and sometimes what an insurer has been told. None of that is ours to repeat.
- What is wrong with your vehicle, what it cost and who worked on it before us stays between us and you.
- Nothing you tell us is used as an example anywhere, even without a name, without being asked first.
- The case studies on this site are composites assembled from several jobs precisely so that no single customer is recognisable in one.
- Photographs of your vehicle are taken for the job record. They are not published anywhere and are not used to sell anything.
- Where a repair may be claimed on insurance, the written report is yours to hand to whoever you like, and we will not send it to anybody without you asking.
Every case study on this site is an illustrative composite assembled from several jobs. No customer is named, no vehicle is identifiable, and there is not a single testimonial on this website attributed to a person — a fabricated one would be the one genuinely dishonest thing a workshop's website can do.
The photographs
Every repair is photographed before it is wrapped up, and every installation is photographed as it goes in. That is a job record: it is what makes it possible to answer a question about something that happened eighteen months ago, and it is what goes to you along with the invoice.
Those pictures are not published, are not used to sell anything and do not appear on this website. Every photograph on this site was generated rather than taken, which is stated on its own page and is the reason there is no vehicle in any of them that anybody could recognise.
Where somebody else is paying
Rodent damage, fire damage and flood damage are frequently insured, and the written report is built so it can be handed to an insurer: what was found, where, how much of it, and what was done. It is yours to hand over. We do not send it to anybody without you asking, and we do not take instructions about what it should say from whoever is paying.
That last sentence is the one that matters. A report written to suit the payer is not a report.

Describe the symptom, or just telephone
The symptom check takes about three minutes and gives you a written summary of which circuits would be tested first and why, with the hours and the published rate against each. It is an indicative scope and not a diagnosis — nobody has seen the vehicle — but it is a better opening than a blank contact form. If you would rather skip it, the telephone works.
